Ethics Training Program

The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, enacted in 2003 by the General Assembly of the state of Illinois, requires each officer and employee of all state agencies and universities to complete an annual ethics training program beginning in 2004. The Ethics Act currently requires that employees be trained on an annual basis and new employees must be trained within 30 days of initial hire.  Annual training is mandatory for all employees and the platform for completing annual training may vary depending on your classification.

 

Failure to complete this training constitutes a violation of the Ethics Act and could result in possible administrative fines and, when applicable, employee disciplinary action.

Online Training

 

Beginning with the annual 2018 ethics training, Workplace Answers will no longer be hosting our online training module.  Each campus will be hosting the ethics training on their current Learning Management System (SIUC- D2L, SIUE-Blackboard, SOM-Healthstream). 

 

Annual online ethics training is mandatory for all SIU faculty, staff, graduate assistants and volunteers. (Employees with a classification of extra help or student employee will complete the annual training using the offline version of the training. Please note, SIUC has placed the offline document on D2L for completion.)

Offline Training

 

Annual offline ethics training is mandatory for all Seasonal and Temporary employees.  This includes such classifications as undergraduate student employees and extra help employees.  The offline training document for each campus is located below (SIUC has placed the offline document on D2L for completion):
